Explore how art therapy and counselling sessions work, including formats, length, and who they support.

A neat wooden therapy table covered with a large sheet of heavy watercolor paper, scattered with soft pastels, watercolor pans, and colored pencils in calming blues, greens, and earthy tones. A partially completed abstract painting suggests flowing ocean waves, subtly referencing the coastal setting of Salamander Bay, NSW. The space around the table features organized shelves with neatly stacked sketchbooks and ceramic jars holding clean brushes. Soft, diffused natural light filters through an unseen window, creating gentle shadows and a tranquil, professional atmosphere. Photographic realism at eye level, with a shallow depth of field that keeps the artwork in sharp focus while the background softly blurs, conveying trust, safety, and a welcoming art therapy environment for health and counselling.
A carefully composed flat lay photograph of tools used in art therapy and counselling, arranged on a pale wooden surface. A closed, cloth-bound journal with a simple, elegant design rests beside a set of neatly aligned coloured pencils and fine-tip pens. Nearby, a small box of watercolours, a ceramic mixing tray, and a soft cotton cloth are placed with deliberate spacing. Subtle accents such as a sprig of native Australian foliage and a smooth shell gently reference Salamander Bay, NSW, without becoming the focus. Soft, diffused studio lighting from above minimizes harsh shadows, creating a clean, trustworthy, professional mood. The overhead composition is symmetrical and orderly, symbolising clarity, support, and structured yet creative therapeutic work in a health and counselling practice.
